Best part of class?

If I had to choose the best thing about this english course would be the professor. She was amazing and helpful. She is patient and always willing to go the extra mile for a student. I've become awfully fond on her and in fact plan on taking a course with her next semester. She is a lovely teacher and I don't know if I would have passed English class without her as the teacher. I'd be a shame to find out that I won't have the pleasure of having her next semester DUE TO the stupid ass VP of OCC. Dana, you better be there or I am dropping the class!

Off Track

This semester went from me thinking I could get away with half assing everything like I used to in High School. I have come to the rationalization that it's not as simple as I thought it'd be. Im getting bad grades and Im forgetting to blog and waiting till the last minute to do everything. I really hope I can somehow bring my grades up and make my grade better before the end of the semester. Which is what? A week? Im doomed! Great way to start off the college life. Im really starting to regret leaving Rutgers sometimes. All my classes make me want to rip my hair out of my head because its just so much work since I got the shit classes from signing up for them SO late in the summer. Im screwed.

school

I can't believe that this semester is already half way over. It doesn't seem real at all and honestly I'm feeling the pressure. Im so nervous as to how my grades are going to turn out. My classes are becoming extremely difficult and I am noticing that I cannot just breeze through college like I did in high school. I hope that I'm not doing as bad as I think I am. I hope that I will be able to pull myself out of the slump I seem to being going through. Only time will tell.....

The Princess Encyclopedia

I went to an elementary school book fair today, don't ask why, but I saw the Princess Encyclopedia. I couldn't help myself and bought it. I have a weird obsession with the Disney Princesses. The book tells the story of each princess and then gives funny stories to go along with each princess. Also has details on other characters from the stories. For example, the Snow White chapter gives a list of ways to clean your house with the help of friendly forest animals. It just cracked me up and I loved it. Im still a little girl at heart, what can I say.

first semester

I originally thought that I was going to breeze through my four classes without any difficulty at all. I expected to be able to do barely nothing and still pass with an A. Recently I came to the conclusion that you actually have to DO the work in order to pass your classes. I'm not saying that I can't get my grades up or that I can't get good grades because I can. Were not that far into the semester but I do need to seriously start to take this seriously because if I don't, I'm not going to be able to transfer next fall like I hoped I would. I will admit though that I like all my professors and classes. And going to a class that doesn't make me want to shoot myself in the head is a good enough class for me.

Books and movies

It made me happy to see that I have read and seen many of the books and movies on your lists. In an odd way it makes me feel like my weird movie and book obsession isn't too much of a waste of time. Ok so my recommendations for books are the Twilight series and the Sisterhood of the travel pants series. They have to be my favorite to read. I think it's because I don't like reaching an end to a book so reading series of books let me prolong that for a longer period of time. And my movie recommendations if you haven't seen them already would be:
My Cousin Vinny
The Shawshank Redemption
Girl, Interrupted
The Notebook (because everyone needs to get notebooked at least one in their life)
Fight Club
Cast Away
Kill Bills
Finding Nemo
And this list could probably go on forever because I have a movie obsession but i'll end it there

new language

When I heard about this new language I got excited. I think it is pretty cool that out of nowhere scientists have found a new language that is different from the rest. Its weird to think that people just come up with their own languages and honestly I think I might lose my mind if i tried to think about how languages start and who starts them and the beginning of it all. However it is an interesting topic and I hope that there will be more discovers like that in the future.

HPV Vaccine texas tyranny

This essay is annoying. If the drug companies are so adamant about the requirements of an HPV vaccination why don't they use some of their enormous profits to cover some of the costs. Sure the vaccinations are free, if results for HPV are positive then the profits and expenses go up. Its just wrong, you should not be allowed to order young girls to get the HPV vaccine considering that as said in the text the vaccine is completely worthless as a medical treatment. My opinion is that it is just a stupid way for the government to make money.

Semicolon

I know that the assignment for this weeks blog was suppose to be a happy news article, but I found a website that made me happy so I need to blog about it. This website is titled "How to use a semicolon" and it is a comic way to teach people how to properly use a semicolon. I found it funny and unique and thought I'd be nice and share the link with you. If you go through and read the comics, you'll see that they use funny ways to teach to explain just how to use a semicolon and when not to. It's the perfect way to learn about semicolons when your like me and need some kind of entertainment to keep you listening.

Sweet Misfortune

Due to the fact that I am a book worm and love to read, my manger at work insisted that I read a book called sweet misfortune. I just got it today and I am really excited to start reading it. From the back of the book, it leads me to think that it's is going to be a sad love story. I really hope it's a good book because it's been a long time since a book was able to really hold my interest and it'd be great if this one could.

Four Assignment...

I really don't even know where to begin with the article I just read. This whole mental stuffed animal thing has to be a joke. It's just about the stupidest idea ever imaginable. I wonder if people are actually going to buy these stuffed animals or if its just a joke. After reading this article, I've come to the conclusion that people in Germany have WAY too much time on their hands and need to get a hobby.

Nothing..

The classes I have this semester aren't exactly easy but they are not hard enough to have me stressed over anything yet. I have not had any tests or quizzes yet that have me scared considering its only the third week of classes but I did write a good diagnostic paper that didn't scare me. I like my classes and I don't feel any kind of pressure.........yet.

Current Event...

Today I read an article about a crash that happened over in Afghanistan. A helicopter carrying nine service members crashed in a section of Southern Afghanistan. NATO says there were no reports of enemy fire in the early morning where the crash took place. However, Taliban spokesman told The Associated Press that insurgents shot down the helicopter. Also reported that the Taliban takes credit for accidents that they were not involved in. I personally think that it stupid cause thats only making the Americans more angry.

OCC expectations...

Well everyone knows that I originally started Rutgers University this September and that was not what I was expecting at all. When I started OCC I wasn't sure what to expect. Oddly enough I enjoy OCC, i like seeing my friends from high school hanging out on the campus in between classes. I like the atmosphere of the classes and the people in them. All my teacher so far seem cool and laid back and not so uptight about anything. Im glad I decided to stay home instead of going away to college, Many of my friends went away to college and some of them enjoy it but many always say how much they want to go home. I think i made the right decision and I'm glad I attend OCC.

Assignment One

The most fun I've ever had writing was with a friend writing letters to each other throughout the summer. I found it fun because we could talk about anything, put our thoughts on paper. It was also fun because you could write anything you wanted; feelings and secrets. Since I didn't have to tell them in person it made it a lot easier to express myself. Not having to worry or be nervous about seeing their reaction. It was easier to write then to actually tell them things. I enjoyed it because I could relieve my my stress in the letters by putting it into words. Also the person who was receiving my letter would reply with encouraging words and always knew how to respond in a way that could cheer me up. The reason I enjoyed writing was because it was free writing and my own where I could express my thoughts and feelings accurately on paper. It wasn't an assignment I was forced to write, it was my own writing that i wrote just for fun and thats what made it all worth while.
